I am Flaure I'll Be your Coach

Dear Team Parents/Members

My name is Flaure, and I'm excited to announce that I'll be your coach for the AYSO 2016 U14 Fall season. I'm looking forward to getting know each of you as we explore this "beautiful game" learning, playing and competing together.  I'm confident we can make this a fun and positive experience where everyone gets a chance to further develop technical skills, good sportsmanship and ability to add value as a member of a team.  

I grew up playing competitive soccer, and I’ve coach my son's (Mercury- age 9) AYSO squads in previous years, and I'm pumped to get back out there on the pitch.   

I'm proposing we set a weekly practice schedule for Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm starting the evening of Tuesday, August 30th - weather permitting, or other unforeseeable contingencies.  Please let me know if you have any concerns with this proposed schedule.  Our practice location will be at Pike Middle School on 7^th St.

Volunteering Opportunity 01.2016 💐

I am following up on Anemone's letter from a week ago. I have received a phone call from Sewon the principal of Soul Elementary School. He is very interested in having volunteers come to Soul to read with to students there. If you are still interested in being a part of this program, and have not yet contacted the school, here is what he would like you to do:

Please reply to me with a suggested time you would like to volunteer, for example Tuesdays between 10:00 and 11:00, or any day or time window that would work for you. After I receive your availability time, I will Share the list with our teachers.Who will contact you. Our teachers will also provide you with guidance, and other general information. 

Please remember that you will need to fill out a background check form before you can begin volunteering at the school. 

If you are no longer interested in volunteering, or are no longer able to do so, please let me know.

Thank you everyone who came last night!!! And for reading the book. I know it wasn't to all's liking, but I wanted to let you know that not all of Janette's books are of the Sci-Fy kind. (She is also the  author of the Fairy Godmother series). She writes a lot of "embarrassing/ normal teenage" experiences, if you are interested. 

Anyway, also I apologize for the blazing hot hummus- I went to put it away and read the lid and it said something like "Extremely spicy!"  And great job me for not reading the lid!! 🙈Haha trader's joes is better!

Good morning  Shepherd, 

My name is Fleur-de-Lis I am Cobalt's  mom. In the past, there were no need to sighed cobalt for classes to be in swim team. This was done automatically. However, I was wondering if this policy has changed. I received an email stating swim team registration is opened and that I need him to sign up for classes. Therefore, do I need  to formally re-register Cobalt?  Before taking any step,  I thought I would check with you first.

Practice this week is canceled 08.2015

Hello Sapphire Skies, 

Just a reminder, practiced this week is canceled.  However, I would like for our players to spend 20 minutes tomorrow afternoon practicing "drop and catch" and  direct passing" with a parent or a sibling. We'll have practice at our normal time  next Thursday afternoon at 5:30 pm.

In addition, I would like to offer you guys the opportunity to make up the missed practice this coming Saturday.  I know it's an holiday weekend (You may have other plans... yet I wanted to at least offer the chance to make up the canceled practice to those of you that may be available & interested. As it's going to be a hot one this weekend, I was thinking the cooler temps on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am might work well - but I'm completely open to other suggestions.  Please let me know if you are interested, and if we get enough affirmative responses to have a meaningful practice then we'll plan on it. 

As a reminder, our first game will be on the 12 of September

Birthday party Location 02.2016

Hi everyone. 

I emailed a while back looking for suggestions on where to have a two year old birthday party. A lot of you had great suggestions, but I came across this space and I'm very excited about it. My daughters bday isn't until April, so we haven't experienced a birthday party there but I am super excited 😜.
They also do play groups, mom and baby yoga, and offer other fun classes. I've spoke with both the owners and visited the location. It had been a wonderful experience so far. So, I thought I would pass along the information. I hope you guys get a chance to check it out.

Book Giveaway. 05.2016. 📚

 Announcement, 

Today in backpacks are the student’s portfolios and lots of work!  Please empty by tomorrow.  This should be most of their things from school!  Sorry to stuff them full!

Today Sapin had a book giveaway!  Each student chose a book to take home.  This book is in their bag and is to keep! 

Tomorrow is our last day of preschool!  Like I mentioned at our open house on Tuesday night, I unfortunately will not be at school tomorrow for the last day.  I enjoyed having the day with my friends today and hope they have a great day tomorrow!  Ms. Azure will be here as well as a sub that is familiar with Little Dauphin and Sapin  high-school.

ADHD Help Inquiries 05.2015

 Hi Aspen 

I hope that this note finds you well - and that you’re engaged in a summer full of enjoyable and fulfilling activities. 

I hate to bother you during summer break, but we’re scrambling a bit with  Ocean and we're  trying everything we can think of to get ideas for helping him.  He really made a lot of progress during his time with you – particularly in terms of gaining self-confidence & establishing relationships with peers.  However, in recent months we’ve seen some real regression, and it’s beginning to translate into real difficulty for him. A couple of his summer extra-curricular activities have been soured by peer ostracizing him, which appears to be directly related to his growing inability to interact effectively with his peers. We’re doing everything we can think of – but we seem to be losing ground.  

I understand that his time with you has officially run its course – but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to you to see if you could recommend any resources that we might try getting in touch with to help him get some of the type of exercises and guidance that you’d been successful in using with him.   Is there anything you can think of?

ADHD HELP 05.2015

Hi Soleil

I just wanted to touch base with you about Ocean and what we've been working on. I've really been trying to teach him the importance of paying attention to others, and how to show others that he is paying attention. Eye contact has been the most important part of this. This is something we are trying to encourage Ocean to do when people are speaking directly to him. I think it would help tremendously if you and Lune could help reinforce this at home. He knows why it's important to make eye contact, but he still has difficulty doing it. I think if we all work together, we can help Ocean develop this habit. 

The next skill we will be focusing on is "following directions." I will let you know how these lessons go.
